12 January 2010

Today, the GREENHOUSE GAS MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE and KOELNMESSE, INC. announced “GHG LIVE”, a series of workshops, training classes and job fairs related to the emerging, regulated low carbon economy. The event series will kick off in North America in 2010 (detailed schedule to be announced in February).

The conference series will consist of 1, 2 and 3 day LIVE workshops, providing attendees with in-depth education and practical knowledge via small class room settings and taught by leading experts. The setting also provides “face to face” meeting and networking opportunities with fellow GHG professionals through classes, class room exercises, GHG Membership meet-ups and job fairs.

The Greenhouse Gas Management Institute is a nonprofit organization that trains professionals charged with measuring, accounting, auditing and managing GHG emissions. The Institute’s membership program connects the largest global community of greenhouse gas and climate change experts in the world and is developing courses in multiple languages.

Koelnmesse Inc. belongs to the worldwide Koelnmesse Group, organizer of international tradeshows and conferences in Europe, North America and Asia such as Carbon TradeEx America, Carbon Summit, Carbon Expo, CARBON Forum Asia, Wind Power Asia and Clean Energy Expo China.

Tom Baumann, Director, Strategic Solutions and Partnerships, and Co-Founder of the Institute said: “We view our partnership with Koelnmesse as key to giving this critical training series a broader reach. The need to measure and account GHG emissions is global; therefore our goal is to offer “GHG LIVE” in dozens of countries along with our online curriculum, which is already accessible from anywhere in the world. Koelnmesse’s worldwide network is the ideal route to accomplish this goal.”

Added Mette Petersen, President and Managing Director of Koelnmesse Inc.: “We are excited to work on this training series with the GHG Management Institute. Our partnership brings together the leading expertise on GHG training with our worldwide events expertise on carbon trading, renewable energy, energy efficiency, environment and sustainability.”
