KIND + JUGEND SETS ALL TIME RECORD – STRONG APPEAL TO U.S. INDUSTRY

With 2 months remaining, Kind +Jugend 2006 is poised to have the strongest event in its 40 year history. This trade show is considered to be the world’s largest in the children’s outfitting industry. Show dates are Sept. 15-17, 2006 in Cologne, Germany.

The organizer expects 600 exhibitors from 40 countries who will showcase their merchandise to 12,000 trade buyers from all over the world. The Kind + Jugend show features Children’s Furniture, Strollers, Educational Toys, Safety Items, Hygiene Articles and Clothing.

Exhibitors regularly time their product innovations with the inception of the Kind + Jugend show dates. The best, innovative product ideas will be nominated to participate in the “Kind + Jugend Innovation Award” contest staged in the following five product categories: Mobile Devices for Babies, Furniture & Textiles, Baby Care, Baby Toys and Baby and Kid’s Fashion.

Last year’s award winners included: a car seat with adjustable headrests, a child bed convertible into an adult sized bed and a portable baby phone with monitoring devices. To be eligible to participate, exhibitors must show new products manufactured after September 2005.

The continued low dollar valuation of the past two years has considerably increased the appeal of Kind +Jugend to North American manufactures. This year, 30 North American manufactures will display their merchandise, an increase of 50% over the previous year. Most of the U.S. exhibitors will show their goods via the U.S. Group Exhibit located in hall 11.2 – one of three halls at the Cologne trade fair grounds. Among others, the U.S. Group will include Alex, Baby Planet, Kalencom, Offi, Safeway Systems, Second Nature, SLP Enterprises. As the largest independent U.S. company, Kids II will feature its line of educational toys.

The last Kind + Jugend event in 2005 attracted more than 12,000 attendees from 87 countries. The show is visited by importers, distributors, specialist retailers, wholesalers, clothing outlets, department stores and buying associations.
