U.S. COMPANIES SEEM CONFIDENT ABOUT EXPORT OPPORTUNITIES

The race for booth space at Anuga 2007 has begun. Based on preliminary sign up results, U.S. companies have an optimistic outlook regarding exports to the European and Asian Markets. The long lasting dollar weakness of the last 3 years has helped to put a spotlight on U.S. products. For U.S. companies, Anuga is a vital marketing tool to reach out to international food and beverage buyers from all over the world. Show dates are October 13-17, 2007.

Says Mette Petersen, President of Koelnmesse Inc., organizer of the Anuga Pavilions, “Many U.S. companies who in the past have put off developing their export business are now asking for space at our show. We contribute the increased demand to the following factors: The favorable dollar valuation, the generous financial incentives offered by the U. S. Department of Agriculture and the high regard in the industry for our U.S.A Pavilion program and services.”

Koelnmesse, Inc., the Chicago based North American subsidiary of the Anuga organizer, will stage Product Pavilions at Anuga in the following categories: Fine Foods, Meat & Poultry, Frozen Food and for the first time Organic Products.

Anuga is open to the trade only and is attended by distributors, major retailers and wholesalers, food service buyers and hotels and restaurants. The last Anuga event in 2005 attracted over 160,000 buyers from 156 countries and more than 6,000 exhibitors from all 5 continents.
