IDEM 2012 – OPTIMISM AMONG U.S. DENTAL MANUFACTURERS ABOUT BUSINESS PROSPECTS IN SOUTH EAST ASIA

Chicago, Cologne – June 14, 2011

The 7th IDEM 2012 (International Dental Exhibition and Meeting) Singapore will open its doors in 10 months. This event is widely considered to be one of the premier dental industry trade shows and conferences for the fast growing Asian Market.

Early sign ups by U.S. dental manufacturers for IDEM Singapore 2012 indicate strong interest from companies seeking to expand their sales into the Pacific Rim region. IDEM will take place for the seventh time from April 20-22, 2012.

The show covers the entire spectrum of dental medicine and dental technology – from materials and instruments, prophylaxis products, pharmaceuticals to dental surgery and laboratory equipment. The trade show will be accompanied by a high level scientific conference program focusing on the latest scientific trends and developments organized by the Singapore Dental Association.

So far, 10 companies have already secured their booths at the IDEM USA Pavilion organized by Koelnmesse, Inc. in Chicago. The USA Pavilion has received certification from the U.S. Department of Commerce recognizing the strong export potential for U.S. manufacturers in this region. A dedicated commercial service officer from the U.S. Department of Commerce in Singapore will assist U.S. companies with matchmaking services prior to and during IDEM. ““IDEM Singapore is an excellent marketing opportunity for companies who are committed to broadening their exposure within South East Asian marketplace. We have been exhibiting at the IDEM for several years and the wonderful venue is a great place to meet customers, distributors and prospective partners.” says Weston Pettersen, International Sales Manager at Zimmer Dental, Inc.

Richard Campos, International Sales and Marketing Manager at Air Techniques added: “When we entered the South East Asian market 8 years ago, we could have easily sold our Digital Imaging Systems directly to dental offices, but we resisted that temptation. Instead we successfully concentrated on finding distributors. Our sales to this region have grown continuously and we are ready to display new product lines at the upcoming event.”

Mette Petersen, President and Managing Director of Koelnmesse, Inc., Chicago noted: “U.S. dental products are in high demand in this part of the world. More than 30% of dental imports into Singapore come from the U.S. We expect 25 -30 U.S. companies to take part at IDEM 2012, most of them via our well-established USA Pavilion“.

Show management expects around 375 companies and 6,500 visitors from the Pacific Rim region to be in attendance at IDEM Singapore 2012. Attendees are Dealers, Distributors, Dentists, Dental Technicians, Hygienists and Dental Students.

IDEM Singapore 2012 is considered to be the leading dental trade fair in the South East Asian region. International companies use IDEM to launch their products by finding distribution in the ASEAN countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia. National pavilions from many countries take advantage of this event, including large groups from Switzerland, the UK, Germany, Korea and Taiwan.
