North AMERICAN FOOD PROCESSING AND PACKAGING EXPORTERS GETTING READY FOR ANUGA FOODTEC 2012

Chicago, Cologne – June 14, 2011

More than ten months before show opening, Anuga FoodTec 2012 is well on its way and the organizer expects to exceed numbers from the last event in 2009. Show dates are set for March 27-30, 2012, at the Koelnmesse fairgrounds in Cologne, Germany.

Anuga FoodTec 2012 will be the central meeting point for the international food and beverage supply industry. The 2099 event attracted 1,200 exhibitors and 35,000+ attendees.

To help packaging and processing suppliers seeking to expand into the European market, the U.S. based office of the show organizer will offer a U.S. Food Packaging Pavilion as well as a U.S. Pavilion for Food Processing companies. The U.S. Pavilions will be supported by PMMI (Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute), owner and producer of PackExpo. Says Mette Petersen, President of Koelnmesse, Inc: “We notice strong interest among U.S. suppliers to expand into the European market. Besides food processing companies we expect added interest among packaging suppliers. Our cooperation with PMMI will be helpful in making our event a focal point for U.S. exporters who are eager to take advantage of the weak dollar and pent up demand in Europe.”

Anuga FoodTec 2012 will use six halls of the Koelnmesse exhibition center and offers five main product areas consisting of Process Technology & Ingredients, Packaging Solutions, Food Safety & Quality Management, Automation and Regulation. In addition Anuga Foodtec will feature side events focusing on the themes of packaging, sustainability and quality assurance. At the last event in 2009, the event attracted 34,000 visitors from 114 countries.
