SHOWCASE GLOBAL AWARD PRESENTED TO DTA AND KOELNMESSE, INC., CHICAGO DURING IDS 2007

Cologne/Chicago/Arlington, May, 2007 – During IDS 2007, Koelnmesse, Inc. invited all U.S. exhibitors to a networking reception in the lounge of the USA Pavilion. On that occasion George F. Ruffner, Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs of the U.S. Embassy in Berlin awarded the Chicago based Koelnmesse, Inc. and the Dental Trade Alliance (DTA) the “SHOWCASE GLOBAL AWARD”.

The Award recognizes both parties for their efforts to provide a global platform for U.S. exporters via the USA Pavilion Program. A record of 108 U.S. exhibitors participated in this year’s Group Pavilion.

“It was the first time that DTA had organized a joint USA Pavilion together with Koelnmesse Inc., Chicago after years of coordinating our own DTA group pavilion. DTA member companies praised the IDS organizer, hall traffic and the design of the U.S. pavilion. The reviews were excellent. The on-site team of U.S. Commercial Services was very effective in connecting our member companies with new international dealers from around the world”, said Gary Price, CEO of DTA.

Added Mette Petersen, President of the Chicago based Koelnmesse, Inc., ” The SHOWCASE GLOBAL AWARD is a very prestigious recognition. We are proud to be the recipient this year and we will work hard to help U.S. dental suppliers to build up their international business during future IDS events. The USA Pavilion provides the right tools to be successful here.”

The U.S. Foreign Commercial Service (USFCS) consists of a network of industry experts in over 80 countries. Under the Global Showcase Program USFCS selects leading international trade fairs to promote export opportunities for U.S. exhibitors via matching services, partner search, lead generation and background information on international buyers.

IDS 2007 generated close to 100,000 attendees, an increase of 6 % compared to IDS 2005 and a total of 1,742 exhibiting companies.

The next IDS show dates are: March 24-28, 2009 in Cologne, Germany.
