NORTH AMERICAN COMPANIES TO INTRODUCE MULTIPLE INNOVATIONS AT PHOTOKINA 2014

The countdown has begun and the excitement is building around Photokina, the leading international trade fair for the entire photographic and imaging industry. This six-day event, which is known for showcasing many new product innovations, will open its doors from September 16-21, 2014 in Cologne, Germany.

This year’s edition will feature over 1,000 international suppliers in 7 halls. Show management expects to attract more than 180,000 attendees from all over the world. Among the exhibitors will be 80 U.S. companies launching their newest imaging products. Lytro for example, will introduce a light field camera. The “Lytro Illum“ captures color, intensity and light rays recreating sights and scenes on an experiential canvas.

The C&A Marketing Group will present The “Polaroid Cube”, the latest lifestyle action video camera as well as a full line of mounts and accessories. One of the world’s most versatile cameras will be displayed by GoPro via the HERO3. Their new 3D System designed for HERO3+Black lets users record synchronized 2D videos and convert 3D files. The camera captures videos and can shoot time-lapse photos at the same time. GoPro will target professional athletes and video production professionals.

Lenscoat plans to feature its protective cover line for one of the world’s largest interchangeable SLR AF lenses for Canon. Lenses at their booth are owned by companies like National Geographic, Sports Illustrated and secret government agencies. A rare opportunity to view lenses in the $165,000 and plus price range.

The Chicago based representation of Koelnmesse will also feature 15 North American exhibitors in group exhibits in Halls 9, 4.1 and 2.1 showing innovative bags, printers, software products and accessories.

More than 500 North American photo dealers, retailers as well as professional and amateur photographers will take the trip to Cologne. Among them will be buyers from Amazon, Adorama, Best Buy, B&H, Cosco and Picture People.
